Although this COVID-disrupted season has meant that no player awards are being awarded, there is still a place for one of our most important rugby awards - the Graeme Ryans Memorial Trophy for Clubman of the Year award.
This year the Club recognises not just one year of exemplary service, but several years in the development of both Women's and Youth rugby. Despite starting from a position close to zero, his determination and unshakable belief has seen both sections gather considerable momentum, especially the Youth section which now numbers over 100 participants across U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups. Although now stepping down from the lead role, he continues to be an enthusiastic and hard-working coach, and a worthy role model for the young people under his guidance.
Davy follows in the footsteps of several notable club members who have won this trophy, and is certainly a most deserving recipient to add to that list.
