Although Les played most of his competitive rugby for Instonians in the late 1950s and early 1960s, he later joined Bangor and eventually served as Club President in 2003/4. He was a real stalwart of the Club and a loyal supporter of all the teams that turned out at Upritchard Park. Despite his illness in recent years, Les was a regular attender of the pre-match lunches and more often than not gave the referee the benefit of his opinion from the touchline at the subsequent game.
Due to the current restrictions there will be a private family service only.
No flowers please, but donations if desired may be made directly to Marie Curie, 1a Kensington Road, Belfast, BT5 6NF.
Les was a much-loved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by the wider family circle and all his friends at Bangor Rugby Club.
